Fractional CFO
Closing the gap between outsourced finance and a full-time CFO

As companies prepare to raise, financial complexity increases fast but the underlying numbers often don’t keep up.
What typically happens instead is a lean setup, outsourced bookkeeping, and a CEO informally acting as CFO while running the business.
This usually shows up as:
-
Runway that looks fine until one decision breaks it
-
Numbers that describe history, not what to do next
-
Growth that looks strong but weakens cash and margins
-
Investor conversations that expose cracks in the financial story
-
Pressure to hire a full‑time CFO before it is really needed
Financial ownership without the need for a full-time CFO

The alternative to this setup is not more reporting. It is clear financial ownership where it matters most around runway, decisions, and fundraising.
-
One clear owner for runway, cash, and financial decisions
-
Numbers that supports day-to-day CEO decisions, not just reporting
-
Growth plans stress‑tested against margin and runway
-
Numbers and narratives that stand up in investor conversations
-
Senior financial support without committing to a full-time CFO
Who this works best for

-
Companies preparing for fundraising that need clearer numbers and runway visibility
-
Teams with basic bookkeeping but no financial ownership at leadership level
-
Founders juggling growth, hiring, and investor expectations without clear financial clarity
-
Companies where the financial model and narrative are not yet ready for investor scrutiny
-
Businesses that need CFO-level support, but not a full-time hire
When it makes sense to engage

-
You’re preparing for fundraising and need your numbers to hold up under scrutiny
-
You don’t have a clear view on runway or how long cash actually lasts
-
Your financial model doesn’t support real decision-making yet
-
Growth is increasing complexity, but financial clarity is lagging
-
You need senior financial support now, but a full-time CFO doesn’t make sense
About Me

Baris Silahcioglu
I work with SaaS and Life Sciences founders in the period leading up to fundraising, where financial clarity and credibility become critical.
My focus is practical: getting numbers to a level that stands up to investor scrutiny and bringing clear visibility to runway so decisions can be made with confidence.
I work hands-on across financial models, cash, margins, and forecasting — supporting both day-to-day decisions and the financial narrative behind the raise.
I deliver this work through Transformiq, a lean setup designed to provide senior financial support without the cost or commitment of a full-time CFO.
My background includes a BA in Economics, an Executive MBA from IMD, and Stanford’s Digital Transformation Program. I also co-authored an award-winning Harvard Business Review case on business ethics.
Discover The Impact
Before fundraising, financial gaps tend to surface quickly in the numbers, the model, and the visibility on runway.
If you are preparing to raise or expecting investor scrutiny, this is the point to make sure your numbers hold up and your runway is clear.
Schedule a 30-minute discussion to assess your current setup and identify where your numbers, model, or runway may need tightening.
